The LCMS-2050 single quadrupole mass spectrometer combines the user-friendliness of an LC detector with the excellent performance of MS to provide a complete package of easy to use high-level performance and compactness. Quickly understand various types of LCMS
Various LC-MS systems are used today, such as LC-MS single quadrupole system, LC-MS/MS triple quadrupole system and LC - quadrupole - time of flight, abbreviated as LC-Q-TOF system, and so on. This video introduces the features, advantages and applications in solving analytical problems of the different LC-MS systems. Taking sulfamerazine as an example, it explains from the ionization to mass spectra of the compound measured on the three types of LC-MS. LC-MS single quadrupole is used mainly for confirmation and quantitation in scan mode and/or SIM mode. LC-MS/MS triple quadruple can be operated in multiple modes such as Multiple Reaction Monitoring (MRM) and product ion scan etc. due to the QqQ configuration. It is particularly important in quantitation of trace level compounds by MRM mode method. While high resolution LC-Q-TOF provides the capability of measuring accurate masses of compounds in MS and MS/MS modes. The combination of accurate mass and MS/MS spectrum made it powerful in identification of unknown compounds and structural elucidation study. The latest models of LC-MS from Shimadzu are LCMS-2050, LCMS-8060NX and LCMS-9050, which have a common feature – ultrafast mass spectrometry or UFMS. This unique feature benefits greatly screening analysis for many targeted or un-targeted compounds such as pesticides, metabolites and toxicological compounds etc. with assistance of data analysis software.
