In drug discovery research, conducted by pharmaceutical companies, universities, research institutions, and more, it is imperative to seamlessly execute compound synthesis, preparative purification of target compounds, and the evaluation and selection of active compounds (high-throughput screening). These processes are considered of utmost importance. While there has been recent progress in automating synthesis and high-throughput screening, the same cannot be said for preparative purification using HPLC or SFC.
