How to set up MRM method for veterinary drug compounds on LC/MS/MS
This video present you a workflow for setting up MRM method for veterinary drug compounds on LC/MS/MS. Multiple reaction monitoring, often known as MRM, is a highly specific and sensitive mass spectrometry method that can selectively detect target compound from the background matrix. MRM optimization can be time consuming especially when we are setting up multi analytes analysis method. MRM optimization in Shimadzu’s LCMSMS systems is based on a rapid series of automated flow injection analysis (FIA), requiring only minutes to perform. Multiple compounds can be optimized in an unattended sequence, optimized parameters will then be saved as MS method, freeing the analyst from tedious work. In this video 5 veterinary drug compounds were applied to set up MRM method on Shimadzu LC/MS/MS instrument. Automated MRM optimization using LabSolutions was applied for these 5 veterinary drug compounds by FIA. Next, LCMS quantitation method based on the optimized MRM method was set up to build calibration curve. LC parameters, MS parameters and data processing parameters was further set up for the developed LCMSMS quantitation method. By using the developed MRM method, an automated batch run was conducted to build the calibration curves for standards 5 veterinary drug. Shimadzu LC/MS/MS method package for Veterinary Drugs Ver. 2 provides a high-speed method for the detection of 129 veterinary drug compounds in just 16.5 minutes. Methods are provided for both ODS and biphenyl columns.
