Use of ternary solvent mixture for carotenoid recovery from Capsicum annuum L.

Add Bookmark

A ternary mixture was carefully chosen for exhaustive carotenoid extraction from Capsicum annuum L. In fact, after homogenisation the sample was treated with three consecutive aliquots of a methanol/ethyl acetate/petroleum ether (1:1:1, v/v/v) mixture. The combined extracts were then dissolved in methanol/tert-butyl methyl ether (1:1, v/v) prior to filtration.
